Permaisuri Thursday // BMW 135i on DPE Wheels

If you’ve ever heard of the BMW 2002 coupes, then you’d be familiar with BMW’s 1968 offering of compact sprinter. Short wheelbase, tall cabin and often fitted with powerful engines (think of the 2002tii). Fast forward a few years later and the 2002 has become what 3 Series are today. Grown up, accommodating and convenient. Exactly what the market needed, as evident with the 3 Series’ global success. And it wasn’t until 2004 that BMW decided to bring its compact sprinter 2002tii formula back into the market, which came in the form of such 1 Series coupe we are featuring today. Compact, powerful and understated, this is 2002tii brought back to life.

135i we are featuring today sports the most powerful engine out of all the 1 Series line up (except for the M versions of course). The six-cylinder turbocharged engine came straight from 335i’s, but this time it’s been put on top of a tinier chasis and mated with a smaller vehicle weight. Which results in a swifter performance and nimbler handling. Perfect for those who’d pick performance over 3 Series’ practicality, or those who’d often bring the Bimmer to the track.

Complimenting today’s 135i sleek-looks are these DPE MT10 wheels that Permaisuri has installed. As forged monoblock set of wheels, DPE has managed to engineer the perfect styling with optimized weight for maximum performance.
